This is my first CD, some folk songs, some blues, some country, some Americana – but all terribly close to my heart. There’s a poignant track about my 7 year old daughter growing up, another about the passing of my mother. A sad cowboy song, an upbeat rocknroll love song, an Irish ballad to things past and future, a sea shanty, a lover’s waltz. I had the amazing good fortune to be backed up here by some of the finest musicians around: producer David West, of the Cache Valley Drifters, played guitar, mandolin, banjo, bass, and did backup vocals; Nashville recording artist Kate Wallace also did vocals and some guitar; Gabe Witcher, of Punch Brothers, played violin; John McFee of the Doobie Brothers on pedal steel; renowned blues harmonica Tom Ball on harp, the amazing Brian Mann on accordion, Tom Lackner and Bob Nichols on drums; and an array of incredible instrumentalists on various other tracks.
